Essential Theatre is celebrating its 19th summer bringing modern day productions to wineries around the country with a tour of Shakespeare’s love story for the ages, Romeo & Juliet. The cast of eight professional actors will take audiences on a romantic but devastating journey, as the lakeside lawns of Crittenden Estate transform for a night of love and tragedy. Please note this important COVID information:
Children aged five and under are free of charge. It's imperative, however that you click here to "purchase" tickets for them at no charge. These will be added to your cart along with your own adult tickets to allow us to track total numbers attending for COVID purposes. Any queries you have regarding this please email Zoe.
Each group booking is allowed to sit together but groups must be seated 1.5m from other groups. This means that the number of people we are allowed in total will be less than normal and tickets are limited to a maximum of 200. It also means that if you are planning on coming with other people YOU MUST BOOK YOUR TICKETS TOGETHER IN ONE GROUP, otherwise you will be seated apart. Therefore, if different families are coming please nominate one person to book. There is no maximum to how many people are in one booking group.
Once seated you are unable to move around except to go to the bathroom or to purchase drinks or food.
You will need to comply with safe hygeine practices and ensure you sanitise your hands regularly whilst here using sanistisers provided.
When you arrive you will need to sign in using our electronic government endorsed QR code sign in system to allow for tracking should there be a case of COVID associated with the event.
Due to the unclear nature of COVID our terms and conditions and requirements for this event may change over time. We will keep you abreast of any changes.

You are welcome to bring your own picnic and there will also be food available for purchase. We must emphasize - NO BYO ALCOHOL.
A range of Crittenden wines will of course be available by the glass and bottle as you settle in for an afternoon of joy and entertainment on the rolling lawns overlooking the Estate's picturesque lake.

Tickets will be emailed and can be printed and shown on the afternoon. Alternatively you can have your tickets ready on your phone when you arrive. Tickets are unable to be posted to you.
There is no formal seating available, please bring your own low chair or picnic blanket. Note that those who bring chairs will be seated in the chairs only areas towards the back. Blankets only towards the front. You will be directed as to where to sit according to what you choose to bring and we appreciate your cooperation with this. Additionally due to Covid, we will have a strict seating plan that must be adhered to.
Please note that this is an all weather performance and an extreme weather contingency plan has been arranged should it be required. There will be no refunds on ticket sales.
