Truffle hunting season is almost here, and we’ve partnered with our friends at Flinders Truffles to offer a special two night stay at Crittenden Lakeside Villas that includes a truffle hunt experience just 15 minutes away at Flinders Truffle Farm.
The hunt offers a unique and immersive adventure for truffle lovers. Set among the picturesque oak trees of Flinders Truffle Farm, guests can watch expert truffle sniffing dogs - Lucy and Enzo - as they search for prized black truffles hidden beneath the soil.
During the hunt, participants will:
*Learn how truffles are graded at ground level
*Experience the thrill of unearthing truffles
*Receive expert guidance on how to wash and clean truffles
*Discover creative ways to use fresh truffles at home
*Sample a variety of products made by Flinders Truffles
After the hunt, guests can enjoy a hot truffle and cheese toastie and truffle soup from the Flinders Truffle Farmgate Truck, making for a cosy and memorable experience. As a special treat, guests will also take home a jar of Flinders Truffle Honey to enjoy with breakfast the following morning.
Exclusive to this package, guests are able to purchase a fresh truffle when they depart, then enjoy it shaved over their meal at Crittenden Restaurant, with expert pairing advice from our team.
