2024 Pinocchio Sangiovese
Our Italian-style range is named after Carlo Collodi’s beloved Pinocchio. Inspired by their love of Italian varieties, winemaker Rollo worked in northern Italy, while founder Garry authored a book on Italy–Australia climate parallels. In 2023, the label was refreshed to capture the story’s enduring charm.
Tasting Notes
Crafted from Sangiovese and left on skins for twenty days before being pressed to a mix of three and four year old barrels, this wine is both vibrant and structured. Aromas of juicy berries and morello cherries rise from the glass, hinting at the depth to come. The palate is bright and savoury, with a refreshing line of acidity and firm, dry tannins that frame the long, tart finish. A wine with character, tension and drive.
Best Paired With
Tuscan bean soup, spinach and ricotta cannelloni, margherita pizza, spaghetti bolognese.
